DAY 5: 02/28/08
Today was golf day for Dad and I. We got a taxi to take us to the nearest golf course in Punta Cana. It was about 30 minutes away. The round of 18 was a little expensive, but how often do you have the chance to play golf in a different country. The round cost $165. The rental clubs where $40. So 200 bucks for a round of golf. We payed our money and got our clubs in the clubhouse. Now i couldn’t really understand but i believe the man who confirmed our reservation was trying to sell or give me the girl in the clubhouse. Couldn’t really understand him. All i could understand is him asking me if i thought she was pretty and if i liked her. All i could say was yes she is pretty and left it at that. Anyways…the course was well kept. It was also a difficult course for us. I lost a total of 5 golf balls. (i brought 6). They had these traps called garbage traps, dad came to know them very well. They where filled with gravel rocks and most looked like they where part of an old road. Not very easy to play out of. The final scores will never be revealed, but dad ended up wining 1 dollar from me on the day. I did beat him in score though. Going into the final hole he had me in strokes by a lot, and he was starting to gloat a little bit. Next thing you know he ends up in one of those garbage traps. 6 or 7 shots later he finished the hole with an 11 which gave me the win by 2 strokes. So in a sense we each won and lost. It was fun. I blame the rental clubs.
We got back to the resort after golf and hit up the ocean for a little while to cool down and catch up in drinks. I can’t remember where we ate that night, think it was the Italian place. Nor do i remember what the show was. Brain staring to turn to mush!!!
