DAY 7: 2/20/09

Today started the same as any other day. Was planning on a lazy day on the beach. had breakfast and went on the beach. Now the resort had Yoga every other day at the Spa, which of course Deanna took advantage of. I guess the guy is a real professional, and Deanna enjoyed the hard workout. She did this in the mornings at 9am. she had Yoga this morning and returned to the beach at 10. just in time to see the clouds roll in. The rain was approaching. We got maybe an hour or 2 on the beach before it started to rain. It rained hard at times. We left the beach and took cover in the Grill for lunch. Was a small wait as everyone else had that idea as well. After lunch Mom went up to the room and was hoping to get some time in the heated pool. Meanwhile i challenged my Dad to a game of Billiards. Trying to win back my dignity from the Chess loss the night before. Well it didn’t go as planned. He won the 1st game, so immediately said “2 outta 3”. That didn’t work either as he beat me in game 2. Wasn’t my week for games i guess. I blame the table. It was not exactly flat!!!!! The ran was still coming down so we retired to our rooms for the afternoon until cocktail hour. Now our cocktail hour was early because we had a planned trip to small town about 10 minutes from the resort called Puerto Morelos. There we would do a little shopping. Deanna was looking forward to this for sure. I was too actually, get to see a little night life outside the resort. It was only for 2 hours from 6-8pm. We walked around looking at all the shops. bartering for some deals. Testing our math skills on converting the pesos to dollars. Deanna found a few things she really likes and of course a new purse. I got my Mexico shot glass to add to my collection. I probably overpaid for it, but i wanted it. We also ran into the Yoga instructor from the resort who owned a little restaurant there. Before the car picked us up to go back to the resort we got to see a little show they where performing on the square. i got a short video of it which is posted on the 2009 video’s page. It was a neat little village. Got back to the resort and had a late diner. Then off to the theater for our last cocktails of the trip and the show.
