DAY 8: 2/21/09
Well today was travel day. Our bus to the airport was picking us up around 8:30. My parents were not leaving until later on in the day. We originally had a 10:40 flight our of Cancun. Well the weather back in Milwaukee sort of delayed that so we didnt’ actually board the plane until 11:30 or so. And of course my name or lack there of caused a small problem. Those of you who know me know that i don’t have a real 1st name. It i just the Letter “J”. well as we are getting our boarding pass and passport checked i got pulled out of line because they thought i had the wrong boarding pass. I tried to tell them that the name on my boarding pass was exactly the same as my passport. They didn’t get it. They kept saying they needed to reprint a boarding pass with my correct name. We where standing by the computer and i noticed that they wanted to print out the boarding pass for my Dad, whose name is James. After numerous attempt i finally go them to understand and we where allowed to board the plane. Now the fun really begins. The 1st 3 quarters of the flight was fine, but as most of you know there was a snow storm going on in Milwaukee. As we got close to Milwaukee the pilot informed us the closed down Mitchell. So we circled around MKE for a while. Then the pilot informed us we where low on fuel and would have to head to Rockford to get more fuel. We landed in Rockford and fueled up. Sat there for about an hour. Then we took off again for MKE. As we got close they pilot informed us that they had once again closed MKE and that we didn’t have that much fuel. apparently only got just enough to make it from Rockford to Milwaukee. She said we could circle MKE for a little bit, but would most likely have to go back to Rockford. But then we got lucky. They reopened the airport and we where allowed to land. Thank God!! We got home to meowing cat and a happy dog. We where both pretty much exhausted. We both had a great time, even with me being sick. before we left the resort i did take some pictures around the inside of the resort. Will this be our last trip for a while….who knows. Only time will tell. I hope you enjoyed reading our vacation story and also the pictures.
