DAY 2: 2/15/09

Today was our 1st full day in Cancun. It was basically a beach day. Got up had breakfast and then went to find a spot on the beach. Unfortunately the beach spots filled up very quickly so we had little to choose from. luckily we found 4. All the older folks would get out there around 6am to reserve there spot. We where not getting up that early. We decided that next time we would find our spots before breakfast. maybe there would be more to choose from. The beach was beautiful, with nice soft white sand. The waves where not big as they where in the Dominican, because of the reefs that where a few hundred yards out acted as a sort of breakwater. Dad had talked me into sailing in the morning. We each would take out our own small catamaran sailboats. I was a little nervous at 1st, as it has been a long time since i have sailed. I was surprised as to how fast i remembered what to do. I almost ran into him only once. Deanna got a few pictures of us out on the boats. In the middle of the day Deanna and Mom decided to to take a little handcrafting class offered by the resort. This would be where they would meet there resort boyfriend Eduardo!!! A very interesting individual to say the least. Anyways, they made bracelets. Deanna’s turned out pretty good, my Mom was not happy with hers so it ended up in the garbage. Oh well!! The rest of the day was laying around on the beach until it was ready for cocktail hour. If memory serves cocktail hour lasted about 2 hours this time. My Parents wanted the lobster house but it was too long of a wait so we ended up eating at the outside Italian place called Oregano. Good food. after dinner it was showtime. Deanna was tired so she went up to the room. I stayed to watch the show. It was 2 very good singers. as you can see by one of the pictures Dad fell asleep. Claimed he saw and enjoyed the whole show. Mom and i know differently!
